Warning: This section has spoilers for the Phase Shift novels, as well as Chronophantasma!

Friendly, bubbly, honest, and optimistic, Celica's your typical cheerful heroine. She's often seen smiling or even giggling, which makes it difficult for even Ragna to scowl all the time. Her selflessness keeps her from being able to avert her eyes away from anything or anyone who may be in trouble, as naive as it may seem to others. She's well-aware of the fact that others find it to be silly and/or futile, but doesn't care; she simply cannot ignore someone in need. Seeing as how she has the rare ability of using healing magic, Celica almost feels as though she's obligated to put it to use. Even after a group of hounds under the influence of the Black Beast attack her and Ragna, she heals their wounds after Ragna fights them. Likewise, in Phase Shift 1, when Kazuma suddenly feels ill, Celica jumps to his aid despite her feeling unwell herself. In this aspect, she's also a little motherly and often wants to treat and take care of people. Upon finding Ragna's collapsed body, she takes him in and treats his wounds. Later in the novel, when Ragna begins to get a headache as some memories return before he runs into Rachel, Celica takes care of and heals that as well. Even in the future she eventually becomes the foster mother of him, Jin, and Saya as she looks over the church.

As mentioned, Celica is an optimist, as well as a bit of a dreamer. This is shown in the fact that she believes in her father being a good and alive men, despite how many others say the opposite. On top of this, however, she also has a dream in which Japan would be restored to its former glory from before its destruction from nuclear weapons that had been used (unsuccessfully) against the Black Beast. She hopes that all the bad things in the area be cleaned up, and that the land, air, and water would once again be beautiful, fresh, and safe. Considering how unsafe the area of Japan is during this time, such a dream really doesn't seem likely. Loving her home though, where her father and mother had met and married, Celica still hopes that the country would one day be restored.

Now, back onto the note about her father, Celica finds her family to be extremely important. She's absolutely determined and persistent to find her father, despite everyone telling her that she shouldn't due to the large possibility of him being dead or becoming a wanted man. Even her own sister, Nine, is against it and hates their father, which always bothers Celica as is considering how their mother is dead so only her, Nine, and their father are left. Why hold such animosity toward him? Regardless, Celica ignores Nine's protests and continues to search for him out of concern and to find out the truth behind his association with the Black Beast. On top of that, she ventures onto this journey with little to no preparation. As soon as Kazuma proposes the possibility of her father being alive and there being a way to go to Japan, she gobbles up the story and leaves immediately, leaving only a small note behind for Nine. She just wants to be reunited with her father and have her remaining family together again no matter what. Even when Nine's name changes from Konoe upon becoming one of the Ten Saints, Celica's only concern is whether or not that name change affects the status of the two being sister, since they no longer share the same last name.

With her sudden journey of finding her father, it could be said that Celica is simply reckless. She leaves the only place (supposedly) safe from the Black Beast just because of the words of an acquaintance she hardly knows anything about, and is even found suspicious to Nine. When Ragna and Mitsuyoshi/Jubei meet for the first time, Celica even tries to stop them from fighting by recklessly throwing herself in between them as they charged at one another. Later, while staying at an inn, she simply leaves and goes out for a walk in the middle of the night by herself. And while in the Alucards' home, Celica opens the door of her bedroom without first asking who is even at the door, and when she realizes that it’s Ragna, she just casually invites him inside. He even calls her out on it, saying how she should not invite random guys into her room. Her only response is a giggle as she jokes around mischievously, asking if he is planning on “doing anything to her,” to which Ragna flat out yells and denies. Though she doesn’t mean to be, she can be rather careless or naïve at times. Kazuma even (inwardly) compares Celica's innocence to that of a puppy or a kitten. She just really doesn't entirely realize the dangers and possible consequences in things. This innocence can also be applied to how Nine says she has a tendency to not listen when she starts talking. Once she decides to do something, she does it despite what anyone says. An example of this is when she proposes her, Trinity, and Nine eating with Kazuma, and she just runs her mouth and gets the food despite Nine and Kazuma's protests. Overall she's just pretty rash, and even hasty.

In some of these cases, such as rushing to find her father and throwing herself in between Ragna and Mitsuyoshi, it could easily be said that while reckless, Celica is simply willing to sacrifice her life for others. This is especially important to note with the end of Phase 0. After she finds out that she's the key for Kushinada's Lynchpin (ultimately meaning that she could stop the Black Beast and save everyone), it doesn't take long for her to decide to make use of that ability, even though it would cost her her life. While ultimately Ragna and Nine do not allow her to sacrifice herself, the fact still stands that she was ready to do so, despite any fears she had regarding it. Even in Chrono Phantasma, when Kokonoe brings a "copy" of Celica to the future, she is once again willing to activate the Lynchpin for the sake of the world's wellbeing.

Also, she's incredibly directionally impaired. Even with maps. It's pretty sad.

Abilities/Powers:
Celica is capable of using healing magic. It can mend most injuries, however, it's not perfect. When she finds her father suffering from seithr poisoning, she's unable to heal him.

Celica's also an anti-body, meaning that she can suppress seithr. Essentially, seithr is an invisible substance that covers the world. In small doses it's harmless to humans, but in large ones it can be fatal. Ars Magus and Ars Armagus (the use of science to manipulate seithr instead of using magic) use seithr to operate. Since Celica's presence eliminates seithr from the area, those around her cannot use it, hence Ragna being unable to use his right arm/Azure Grimoire (which works via Ars Armagus) around her and Ishana having such a pure atmosphere without any Black Beast attacks while Celica is present.

Somehow, because of her abilities related to healing and blocking out seithr, it's noted that she is immune to colds and other illnesses.

Items/Weapons: Her clothes, and I got nothin' else.

After a week of being in The World, one would think that Celica would somewhat know her way around places, or at least be able to navigate where she is via the Relic, especially considering how technology similar to it does exist back in her world. On the contrary, however, this is Celica, so of course she has no idea where she is despite all of this. Will she admit it? Nope. Actually, the thought of her being lost hasn't even occurred to her yet.

"Hm... I could have sworn it was this way," she mumbles without any concern as she examines the map on her Relic. At least this is better than a traditional map in the sense that it actually shows where Celica is. Half of the times she has gotten lost before, it's just been due to the fact that she couldn't figure out her own location. Now it's just a matter of making sure that she's actually holding the device right-side-up though.

...Which she isn't.

"There aren't any dots on here, so I guess that means nobody is around this area, huh..?" Pondering about this, she continues walking around and watching her surroundings for any clue that may tell her that she's going the right way. After several more moments, a clue does indeed pop up! ...But one that informs her of quite the opposite.

Celica stares at the familiar-looking area, tilting her head slightly in confusion. "I was just here before, wasn't I?" Her line of vision shifts downward and at the device in her small, pale hand. It's just then that she realizes its orientation, and she lets out a small, embarrassed laugh. "Ah... Whoops."
